yep, you're right, this is one of the points I considered. But I don't 
expect voltage to lower more then 2-4 volts over my wiring so... 12V 
might be ok for the modules... (not for loads indeed).

As for "true" PoE, I'm not using it as is: I have Ethernet on other 
cables. This is just for my modules.
