The 25xx series are certainly easy to use. A PSU I make for
cellular modems has, for now, the LM2576SAdj for 4.1V @ 4A
from a more limited voltage range than you have to use. I wasn't
aware of the HV range, thanks for that. Don't forget the MC34063
for buck-boost if you ever need to
