Hey all, I'm still very much a beginner at programming PICs, and am learning assembly and C simultaneously. My primary platform is a MacBook running OS-X Leopard. I'm currently running Parallels in order to run MPLAB along with my PicKit 2 and ICD2. I'm somewhat surprised at the lack of tools to program PICs on OS-X. Hi-Tech has compilers for OS-X, but tools to burn the chip seem scarce. The platform is ideal for learning the programming languages, however, as all the Unix tools are available at the command line. While Xcode is a full GUI, I'm having fun learning my way around VI and GCC at the command line. Any suggestions for programming PICs, or should I plan on running Parallels with XP for the foreseeable future? Thanks!
