Last time I learned from in-house UL expert that no production testing are required from UL (we are using UL508). But there is a requirement for production testing form other standards like some from the European side. 2second is thus the best option to fulfill different standards. Last time I was doing sensors and we followed both EN50178 and UL508 and production testing was mandatory if isolation circuits exist in the device.
