No, clearly you are attempting to deal with relocatable code in absolute 
mode. Use the batch file method to compile and link, then it all just plain 
works.

Spending an hour having a look at Olins build environment really will pay 
dividends in understanding how the relocatable environment works. He has 
done all the leg work for you, you just need to 'fill in the code'. I did 
exactly this with the I2C example code that Microchip publish in AN734 & 
AN735, along with the good Friars serial code that has served many people 
well. Converted them all to interrupt code along the way as well.
