I used an LT1370 boost converter to drive a high power LED in
http://www.denmat.com/lights/allegro/ . I used a Maxim current sense
amplifier with a small current sense resistor (a few milliohms) to drive
the feedback input on the LT1370. Works well.

I also just used the LT1370 recently in a flyback converter to generate
several voltages from a 12VDC input to a product.
