I dunno.  There have been amazing toys and automata for a long time  
(consider a Cuckoo Clock), but that doesn't make them what the modern  
world considers a "robot."

(of course, there are a lot of other things wearing the label that  
don't deserve it either.  I find the whole "battleBot" mania, and the  
fact that it played (in the US) on the "Comedy Central" Channel,  
rather depressing.  Sigh.)

(This should not detract from the fact that Mr Woo is a very skilled  
inventor!)
