If I ever build myself a supply I'll have an analog meter for current and a digital meter for voltage. Why? I usually run the supply in constant-voltage mode, so the voltage doesn't change much. The current does change and it's easier to watch an analog meter out of the corner of your eye. If you do a lot of low-power design a multiple-range current meter might be useful.
