A huge plus for the A7 modules is that they have a standard serial interface as well as both 3.3V and 5V logic level serial connections. It is the same chipset that Parallax uses in their Bluetooth Appmod. The A7 modules are easy to use and work very well. I used one for my BOB project in SERVO magazine and also with some older 8031 based controller boards. You can connect the logic level signals directly to the SX processor. Once you pair up this A7 module with your PC bluetooth adapter it looks like another serial port on the PC. From there everything is transparent. I am going to continue using the A7 modules for other projects and would definitely recommend them!
