More info needed - but you are on the right track. Are the batteries located physically near each other? Ideally, they would be inside the same enclosure. You are right to be concerned about charging: temperature differences between the batteries WILL affect charging - both float and equalize. The warmer battery will hog more current than the cold battery - that makes it warmer - etc. dwayne At 03:07 PM 6/2/2008, Sean Breheny wrote: >Hi all, > >Just wondering if anyone here has used strings of lead acid batteries >in parallel before and can share any experience about it? > >My initial worry is that a warmer battery in parallel with a cooler >one might hog charge or discharge current and eventually all the >current could end up going through one of the two. -- Dwayne Reid Trinity Electronics Systems Ltd Edmonton, AB, CANADA (780) 489-3199 voice (780) 487-6397 fax www.trinity-electronics.com Custom Electronics Design and Manufacturing -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
