Do these new fangled GPS' in cars also come > with a warning not to use them whilst driving I wonder? Let me quote from the start up screen: "IMPORTANT: This product may not be operated while using any vehicle, unless such vehicle is in a full and safe stationary parking position, and the user has read and understood the product manual before using this product. It is the user's sole responsibility to apply safe and legal driving practices in order to avoid accidents, damage or personal injuries." There is a "Hide at startup" check box which can't be checked. As mine is an aftermarket system it comes with a safety ground which should be connected to the handbrake mechanism to prevent the screen from being active when the handbrake is off. These are invariably just connected to ground to bypass this. UK law states that visual display devices within the drivers sight are illegal when the vehicle is in motion. Of course this doesn't stop the high end manufacturers from building cars with visual displays and then type approving them on main land Europe.
