I think your long discourse on manners is relevant to some people and not to others ( like me ). I am not interested in adapting to the herd. It has a large component of insecure people-cows who have to be reassured that what they are doing makes sense. It makes sense not to do something that might stampede the herd. When it comes right down to it, the fact that the herd stampedes is not really my responsibility.
