I have been unable to find any way to turn the digital output off. The only options are LPCM at 48 or 96kbit/sec or bitstream (IIRC - I'm at work at the moment). Similarly for the main - alt - foreign settings, there's no sign of anything like that. But I could well have not yet found them. No volume control either I can find, but again, I'll look again tonight as there could be something I have yet to discover. Yes, my first impression was that it was finger trouble - but I'm rapidly starting to run out of fingers!! Thanks for the input everyone. Keep it coming.
