The delta-I diode method is liable to also be realisable for rather less than a dollar for all processor external parts and to produce an uncalibrated accuracy of substantially less than 1 degree C. Accuracy is liable to be limited by how accurately you can control the current delta and measure the resultant voltage delta. With a 10 bit ADC that's not liable to be too hard.
