I didn't mean that all libertarians, or indeed all communists, were raving - I only used the extreme versions of them as examples of the outside edges. ie both want all your property for someone else :-). I'm aware that that's not a fair view of a general libertarian position. In fact a thinking libertarian position can sound quite reasonable to me (even though I would not be consistently seen as being one). I'm a raving everything :-). I TRY to adopt what seems right and fair and reasonable 9choose any 3) from all going positions. And probably fail miserably often enough ;-). > I also think you have a different definition of > "capitalist" than I > do. Only their own > property rights. I don't think I disagree with the more general understandings of what a capitalist is. I only 'complain' when people wish to narrowly define what someone else's capital is so that they may steal capital from them. Which tends to be what happens when GPL type stuff is involved. Some people who in one forum will defend to the death people's right to their own property, will in another seek to limit how some other people may choose to use their property. BTW - I'm not saying that you do this. You may for all I know ;-) - but I don't know. I have read submissions to a US Congressional inquiry from large US software makers who say that Linux is anti-American explicitly because it is free. I understand their point - but think that they are being selective in their definitions of capital and their understandings of rights of ownership.
