I have been searching for many hours now, without success. Does anyone know of a source for small quantities (5+) of SDIO cards that actually do I/O? As in 8-16 digital bits and /or a couple analog ins/outs? I can find lots of SDIO GPS cards, and a few Wi-Fi cards, but there just doesn't seem to be an "I/O" SDIO card out there. SDIO is an extension to the the Secure Digital Flash memory card spec that includes serial and parallel I/O. We want a simple graphical touch screen interface for disabled users, and PDA's seem to have the availability and horsepower needed for a few off application, but I need to be able to read 5 analog channels (10bit, sub kiloHz ok) and 4 digital in and out. Any suggestions on how to do I/O in something like a PDA? (Win CE). I'm thinking I could just hang a PIC off one, but most PDAs only do CLIENT mode USB so getting a USB connection to work would be a PITA, and serial ports are now nonexistent. Bluetooth might be an option, except that it's power hungry and also a PITA to program for. Thoughts?
