I really like the Hammond 1455 series and was looking for something similar at a lower cost. I don't really care about the anodized finish. This is for hobby work. Anyway, found some enclosures made by Context Engineering at a local Fry's Electronics. It's their split body line: http://www.contextengineering.com/split_body_enclosures.html Cost is less than the Hammond but I'm buying the brushed aluminum finish -- not anodized. They will anodize for you and provide a number of custom options. I checked with the manufacturer and they will sell small quantities (as few as one) however I didn't get a price from them. There are a number of other retailers online that sell their enclosures as well. -Jeff > Chris Smolinski wrote: > I'm looking for a source for some small metal enclosures, something > along the lines of the Hammond 1455 series, but a little less > expensive.
