We're not talking about ease-of-dimming; we're talking about ease of dimming WITH currently installed dimming technology, which has two problems: 1) it works by cutting off part of the AC cycle 2) the power to operate the dimming circuitry itself is derived by conduction THROUGH the lamps being dimmed. Neither of these is particularly compatible with either the preferred dimming methods for LEDs OR non-resistive loads in general...
