"LASER" copiers / printers us an electrostatic generator. 
Some units, perhaps from larger commercial copiers, have 
output voltages of many kV. Mayhaps using one of these could 
be an attractive solution? Given the typical cost of spare 
parts for most equipment, maybe not.
