For hardware yes, but this is a software problem.

In places where things could matter HW and certainly SW is often used 
much much longer. Just ~10y ago the Dutch Hoogovens (steel industry) 
still used a number of PDP-11's. DEC did not even exist anymore. They 
carefully stocked what was still useable of every one that died and 
repaired what they could...
