Several of us have been speculating on how to go about designing a target system for a rifle range that did not use paper targets. Sort of a target that could sense the passing of a bullet and determine it's location. We assume a target that was 1 meter square and wish to determine the precise position of the round as it passes through the square. If the shooter was using an semi-automatic weapon, then the position of each round fired would have to be recorded. The positioning would have to be fairly precise. Is this sort of thing feasible? Ideas? Any enlightenment will be appreciated.
