Inreply to my earlier post regarding your advice, the bclr.b lmot_dir 
does not work either because,
I assume due to instructions set details, the bclr.b is a byte 
operation. Xiaofan's recommendation is
what I'll try next. Thanks for all the time and thought on this...that 
goes for all who have posted!
I'll post back with the results of Xiaofan's suggestion.
