Can anyone out there point me to an efficient solution for driving a
couple of 1A IRLEDs from a 7-12V source, with I2C control?

I can do it with a small micro to provide PWM into a conventional
boost reg set as a constant current source, but that seems like a lot
of messing about for something that should be a one-chip solution.

Unfortunately, I'm just not finding it.
