Also, Russell.  I will use FETs to avoid large base drive requirements.  I 
may choose IGBT, depending on the family of curves. So I can see that 
packaging may be a consideration.  Anything you know that will help because 
it is a demanding switching application; RFI considerations, PC 
considerations etc.
