  As I point out in the original thread RTCC seems to act differently depending on the RTCC prescaler setting:
    If the prescaler is 1:1 then 3 cycles are lost
    If the prescaler is 1:2 or 1:4 then 5 cycles are lost
    If the prescaler is 1:8 or higher then 1 cycle is lost (the cycle modifing RTCC doesn't get counted)
