In fact having people be sorry about ones reactions can be 
offensive in its own right.

eg Pope Benedict recently expressed regret that certain

Religion is une verboten subject here. Miscellaneous remarks 
and soundbites of opinion made while peeking from behind the 
protection of the gatekeeper, so that they can not be 
redressed or addressed or is not 'fair play'.

You then compound it by doing more of the same -

what you are dealing with may add some value to your 
transgressions :-).

Many of the meanest and most railingly furious of the 
anti-Christian atheist divines will admit to Christianity, 
as one exemplar of the wealth which you seek to denigrate, 
having far more non-ephemeral contributions to the lioves of 
its faithful than you allow.
