I have a '98 box here that has never been reinstalled. We purchased it in 1999, preloaded. It has about 100 applications installed on it. Rock solid. I restart it once a week, just for safety and to do a full hard drive scan and defrag. When I was using it heavily, it would lock up once in a while, but no big. Now I just use it for a couple of apps that don't play nice with XP. It's a gateway GP6-450 if anyone cares. I've burned through 3 graphics cards, but everything else is original. -- James. -----Original Message----- Xiaofan Chen Sent: Tuesday, March 25, 2008 04:51 I just checked my Desktop XP installation and it was dated May 1 2005. So I have not really reinstalled it for nearlly 3 years. In the Windows 98 (even with 98SE) time, I would probably reinstall Windows every 6 months or one year. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
