My wife's computer had the same thing (not a dell though) and there where actually
three ways to make more recovery discs
-check the verify option when making the discs and open the drive during the verify 
operation. It would consider the operation a failure and would work a second time.
-do a restore from the recovery partition this would also reset the count
-do a simple copy of the dvd's
