A couple comments on the article and comments: 1. At Cal Poly SLO, where I went to school, they said an EE (or EL, which was electronic engineering, as opposed to electrical, which concentrated on power) was a math major with a hobby. 2. I teach electronic technology classes at the local community college. My current class (analog circuits) has a total of four students (and they didn't cancel it because it's required to graduate), and 50% are women.
