We use HT at work almost every day to provide support for our products, and when I was heavily involved in tech support I used it too -- the reason is the same as that given to you by NASA: every version of Windows ships with it. It is certainly surprising that for as long as Microsoft had been shipping HT (up until Vista), the bugs have never been fixed. Like, when the text scrolls out of the "active" part of the window, you would see weird characters, strings from previous sessions mixed in, etc. The engineer I work with prefers TeraTerm, and we're starting to move toward providing automated wizard-style troubleshooters/expert systems so the customers would not have to type in the same boring list of commands (btw, that reminds me -- I have a question regarding this I'll ask in another post).
