> Can I have a schematic of the GSR please ? Basic schematic at http://others.servebeer.com/misc/gsr.gif FET can be a PNP. Adjust values to suit. I've had this operating from 12V to 200V DC in for 12V out. A small series resistor between Vout as shown and load proper may help but as is generally works. The circuit is in the class known as "hysteretic converters" and relies on ripple on CBUK2 to function. This point is often missed by people who say that it can't work. For you DBUK2 could be a 1N4148 or similar subject to voltage ratings. Vout is close to ZBUK1 rated value. Power rating of RBUK3 may matter at high voltages. Dissipation can be approx Vinmax^2/Rbuk3/2. Remove factor of 2 to be on safe side. Regulation over Vin and load is very good for the simplicity - far better than for the slightly simpler Black Regulator. CBUK1 may perhaps be left out. Simpler and as good is hard to find. Note that it enthusiastically tries to drive an extreme overload so means of stopping gross overload occurring may be wanted.
