Hello everyone, I've got an "interesting" problem. I have a linux machine (Ubuntu 7.10) with a USB device plugged into it, powered by the USB port. There are cases where I'd like to cause the device to re-enumerate. The easiest way is just unplugging it and plugging it back in. Unfortunately since this machine must be remotely accessible I need a way to do the equivalent through software. Rebooting the machine is not an option. Is there a call in Linux that will cause a USB port to shut down and start up again? Alternatively is there a way to cause all of USB to re-enumerate, through software? I've tried google but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
