I am working on an aircraft band converter, for the purposes of 
monitoring propagation on the nearby 2 meter band. Since my antenna 
won't be pointed upwards, I do not think I need the slight 
improvement that the gasfet would provide. Since I have the BF998 
dual gate mosfets anyway, it's a match made in heaven.

I'd definitely go for the gasfet if I had an eme array or was working 
satellites.

Yes, the 1444 was a typos, meant 144 MHz.
