Hi all, I found a very nice vhf preamp that uses a dual gate mosfet. The author YU1AW did the design and published the article in 2000. Despite the fact that it's slightly dated, I can find no better design and since I have a bunch for the smt dual gate mosfets in my junkbox already, it's a natural! However, the author only has autocad .dwg files for the board, and I need to convert them to gerber. I tried 2 free converter programs, both of them produced different types of files, but none of them were gerber files. I have a free gerber viewer and it works fine for pcb's that are produced in gerber, but for some reason, it errors out with the converted files. Can anyone suggest a gerber file converter software, or a PCB design program that will import .dwg and export gerber (after making a few minor revisions). The preamp is at: http://www.qsl.net/yu1aw/bf998eng.htm I am interested in the 1444 MHz version, not the 432 MHz version. The PCB is simple, and it's only real issue is an onboard inductor made on the surface of the PCB. But, I was able to measure the size and width/height of the inductor, so I can reproduce it if necessary. It might be just as easy to redo the board completely from scratch. What PCB software (free) is good, it has to be 2 sided board, although one side is just a solid sheet that is used for shielding.
