A friend is trying to repair an EMCO CNC5 / compact lathe 5.

The Z axis bed stepper has expired.
It may be repairable, but maybe not.

Has anyone either one of these steppers for sale of any 
experience in retrofitting the CNC5 with other steppers (as 
I understand may be done by some)?

Ebay knows about the lathes but hasn't the appropriate 
steppers.
There is a stepper for sale in a far off land* for an 
accessory but it's probably not the same.
