I was just looking through my parallax catalog the other day and noticed that the S/X micro controller might work for a project I had in mind.  But before I buy a kit I want to find out more about it.  my questions:
 

1.  Do you have to have a development board to use it or can you attach your circuit directly to it?

3.  If yes to number 2: can you debug a program on the board and then move the chip from the board to a custom circuit? will it run the program the same?  

 

4.  The project I am planning on doing involves infarad communication, will the IR receiver/transmitter circiut used on the BOE-Bot work with the S/X?
