I hand the cashier 21.38. They look at me like I've lost my mind - they can't figure out why I'm handing them the "extra dollar". Like I said, it's amazing how many cashiers don't get this one. Even more fun is when the total is something like 5.98 and you had them $11.03. (Ten dollar bill, one dollar bill, and those 3 pennies which are rattling around in your pocket).
