Yes, that was my result, too.

What I want to do is to install MPLAB7.4 on a USB flash drive (for ICD2 
on a different USB port)
and install MPLABv8 in a standard setup (for ICE2K). Maybe if I install 
one on two different
computers, they might be ok..? then use them as needed...?
