My little shopping cart / order button with inventory reporting has reached another milestone: It now automatically updates the inventory levels after a product has been purchased and paid for via the PayPal system (check, bank draft or credit card). So, first off, people know if a product I'm selling is out of stock before they order it and as a result, I don't have to email them with the "oops, sorry, I'm actually out of that...) and then refund their orders, etc.. And now, when they do place an order, the inventory is automatically updated, via PayPal IPN. A small step, but it sure took a long time to get that to work reliably. The PayPal documentation is complex and confusing (to me anyway). Next, I'm going to work on a user interface for adding and maintaining the inventory database on the server. This will allow others to use the same system if they wish. http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist/2008/01/14/191620a.txt talks some more about it. There are two things I would love to get some feedback on if anyone is the least bit interested: 1. Why does the shopping cart (at http://www.ecomorder.com/techref/ecomprice.asp ) css not work in FireFox with reguard to the width of the columns? 2. What sort of user interface would you expect / suggest for the inventory maintenance page? Or what do you currently use and would you take a screen shot and send it to me?
