I'm using Irfanview (www.irfanview.com) to work with some photos.
Converting a jpeg of about 1MB, 800x600, to an uncompressed
tiff gives me over 11MB.  Even a LZW compressed tiff is over 8MB.
Is this right?  I know tiffs are large but this seems excessive.
