Hi, is there any particular requirement besides the listed below, to make
this part communicate to the ICD2?

Pins 26,38,57 (Vdd) has 3.3V

Pin 19 (Avdd) has 3.3V

Pins 9,25,41,56 (vss) are GND
Pin 20 (AVss) is tied to GND

Pin 18 (ENVREG) is tied to Vdd

Pin 10 (VddCore/Vcap) has a .1uF ceramic and 1uF electrolytic capacitor in
parallel to ground. 

Oscillator pins have a 10 Mhz crystal and 2 33pF caps.

PGC is pin 42
PGD is pin 37

MCLR has a 10K pull up resistor, nothing else.


When I try to connect to it with the ICD2 (MPLAB 8.01 and latest firmware),
it reports the invalid Id error (0x00).

The MPLAB ICD2 status window reports the self test all right and the
voltages are 3.3V for Vdd and Vpp and 11.02V for MCLR Vpp.
