It makes me even angrier when the solution is simple and obvious. In the case of public education, the solution is "vouchers". As long as public schools remain a government-run monopoly, situation will continue to deteriorate. On the business side, it should be every company's prerogative to (1) select only the best and brightest, and (2) fire the incompetent ones. Teaching employees basic literacy skills is definitely not the company's responsibility. Lastly, it is the individual who is ultimately responsible for ensuring their employability. It is hard to believe that so many people in a country with a population of four million have a learning disability.
