I still have a couple of the "Alnico 5" units in the workshop. About 
1980, there was a rage of better fuel mileage, etc. and a couple of us 
Ford Motor Engineers (Facilities, not product design) taped them to the 
fuel line on our cars. No one reported improved fuel mileage. Today I 
use them in the shop for picking things up and sorting magnetic items. :) :)
