Typical reverse engineering to get the device working
under Linux is to use USB sniffer like Snoopy Pro.
And then you can try to implement the Linux user
mode "driver" using libusb.

For USB debugging under Linux, the kernel developers
usually recommend usbmon. But not many people
can understand the output other than they themselves.
