Yes, I finally was able to contact them. The explanation was that they switched to a new ordering system and the backorder was never entered in the new system. They then indicated that though we followed up in December after the switch and the order was re-entered, whoever we spoke to gave incorrect lead time information. I usually gather names/dates/etc when I follow up, but someone else followed up so we don't even know who originally 'fixed' the problem for us Of course there are several holes in the explanation (first and foremost the original B/O on the old system should have triggered and immediate vendor order, which means they should have had some in stock some time ago) but that's all I got out of them.
