You may try a different Linux distros and see if that helps. I had a
similar problem with my on board Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet
Adapter. When I boot into certain versions of Linux and then reboot
to the next OS (XP or Linux), the next will have problem with
networking. I have to shut down the computer and switch off the
power totally (so that the backup 5V is off) and then the thing will
be ok.
