You are going above and beyond what the US government requires
for disk containing classified data; IIRC, they're happy with a
couple of holes or some sandpaper (plus erasure, of course.)

We're not going to see your name in the papers anytime soon as
the person who destroyed all sorts of important evidence that
was about to be subpoenaed for something, right?
