Just incidentally: sources tell me that these PIR sensors have been 
improved 10,000
fold, and some can pick up long range IR from the "Big Bang". What that 
allows one
to do is to is to detect anything or anyone blocking the sky (big-bang 
radiation is almost
every direction in the night sky) from the detector.

These chips don't work this way, of course, but I am thinking of 
tinkering as soon as I
can locate some "hot" new sensors...Have to roll my own detector with a 
PIC or a
MP430, I guess...
