The problem is that losses for switching supplies usually range from 95% 
to 80%. From  75W to 60W
is a change of 15W, or 15/75% or EXACTLY 80% of what was available.

It MIGHT work if you could get by with 11.5V instead of 12V. At 12V, its 
too close to normal  operating
range.
