Yes, providing you use a switching regulator. e.g. Nat. Semi SImple Switcher series - I think there
is a 5A version.	Remember to take losses in the regulator into account - efficiency of
switchers is typically 70-90% so you'd need a solution at the upper end of this range, which might
prove expensive - might be easier to just start off with the right power supply.
